1,000 mg daily From the Indian gooseberry, Phyllanthus emblica

One of the most studied botanicals for healthy cholesterol and circulation, and the core of this formula. It works on both sides of the equation at once: the lipid markers, and the blood vessels those lipids move through. Circulation delivers the full 1,000 mg per daily serving, the amount used in the human trials.

Supports

  • LDL cholesterol
  • HDL cholesterol
  • Blood sugar
  • Vessel function

In published trials

Across two 12-week randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled trials, a standardized amla extract at 1,000 mg daily lowered LDL cholesterol by 20 to 22 percent and total cholesterol by 11 to 24 percent from baseline, with significant differences versus placebo. Blood-vessel function improved alongside it, including a 51 percent rise in nitric oxide.

Antioxidant capacity, measured in the lab See the laboratory antioxidant testing

ORAC is a laboratory test of how well a substance neutralizes free radicals in a test tube. It is a measure of the ingredient, not of an effect in the body. On that test, this amla extract scores well above the fruits usually held up as antioxidant benchmarks.

Why free radicals matter here: when blood sugar runs high, sugars bind to proteins and form advanced glycation end products, or AGEs, the compounds that stiffen tissue and drive oxidative stress. In laboratory and animal research, amla extracts strongly inhibited AGE formation and scavenged free radicals. That work has not yet been repeated in humans, but it is the reason this ingredient sits at the center of a formula built for cholesterol and blood sugar together.
